Tourist Attraction in Nusa Lembongan Island Bali Indonesia

Nusa Lembongan is a small holiday island destination 20km off the southeast coast of mainland Bali which you can reach within a 45-minute boat ride from Sanur Beach or Benoa Harbour. Often referred to as ‘Lembongan’ for short, the island is the most popular destination among the group of three islands, the other two being Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Penida. Great reefs and wave breaks also make it a favourite among divers and surfers.

There’s much you can see and do while on Nusa Lembongan, including a collection of pristine beaches with coarse white sand, soaring cliff viewpoints, and sea views that can get very idyllic at sunset, overlooking the outline of Bali’s highest peak, Mount Agung, on the horizon. Other land attractions include a mysterious underground house, lush mangrove forests, and seafood farming villages that retain their old ways.

On Lembongan alone, there’s a great collection of surf breaks along its northwest coast, while snorkelers and divers can enjoy the crystal clear waters and vivid reefs off its southwestern coasts and around the neighbouring island of Nusa Penida. Although a single-day cruise is usually enough to experience one island, you’ll require an overnight stay to be able to fit it all into your itinerary.

The most common means of getting to Nusa Lembongan is by small public boats, which mostly depart from Sanur Beach, and dedicated fast boat transfers that mostly depart from Benoa Harbour. You can easily find these boats parked along the coast near the beachfront of the Grand Inna Bali Beach. They usually depart at 08:00, although times can be imprecise and depend on the tide.

There are a number of notable fast transfer services from Benoa Harbour, ranging from fast boats to more luxurious catamarans. Usual departure times are 09:00 or 10:30, and you can enjoy a swifter and more comfortable ride compared to smaller public boats. Most also offer day-out retreat packages with dedicated leisure and activity facilities on Lembongan. Following are a few notable cruise companies, from which you can book your next island holiday.
